Research Study: Evaluating Lifestyle Determinants to Reduce Pouch Inflammation in Patients with IBD

Mass General Brigham researchers are recruiting adults living with a J-pouch (ileal pouch-anal anastomosis, or IPAA) due to ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease for a study examining how lifestyle factors may influence pouch health.

The study will explore how factors including diet, exercise, sleep, and stress may affect pouch symptoms and inflammation, with the goal of improving our understanding of ways to support the health and quality of life of people living with a J-pouch.

Participation is entirely online and involves completing one 20–30 minute survey about your health, pouch symptoms, and lifestyle. There are no experimental treatments, medications, procedures, or additional clinic visits required.
